Sender's Frequently Asked Questions

Good question! A standard cardboard box that is square and rigid, will allow the package to be stable and strong enough to protect the goods during transit. If the carton contains loose and/or fragile items, be sure to wrap the items individually and use adequate stuffing materials (i,e packing nuts, bubble wrap) to minimise the likelihood of breakages.

Shipping flimsy, soft and uneven/circular packaging increases the chances of damages, and wrapping cartons in plastic, bubble wrap or other materials, and may also incur manual handling charges.

For more information on specifications, please refer to our packaging guide.

All transport vehicles have both weight and space constraints. Depending on which is greater, the transport companies will either work off the total weight or the total space that your item occupies. To ensure you get the most value from your shipping experience, please ensure that your items are measured and declared and accurately.

Both are critical factors to how a transport company makes money. In order to charge you correctly, a transport company will either work off the total weight or the total space your item takes up - whichever is the greater. Asking you to measure and weigh your item is to check how much space you’ll be taking up on their vehicles.

It’s best to place your item(s) on a flat surface and use a ruler or tape measure to get these dimensions. Be sure to also weigh your item using an accurately calibrated scale.

Please note: all transport companies will also conduct their own checks. If it is found that freight is under-declared, additional charges will be incurred.

It can vary depending on the carrier that you select. Sendthat specialises in small packages and would recommend ensuring that your packages are under the following size limits. This is based upon average specs provided across all our carriers and exceeding them could incur further surcharges.

Length: 117cm, Width: 60cm, Height: 60cm.
Maximum Dead Weight: 20kgs

If unsure, please check out our Packaging Guidelines resource, or reach out to our team for assistance :)

Dangerous Goods are substances that are corrosive, flammable, explosive, spontaneously combustible, toxic, and oxidising or water reactive. These goods can be deadly and can seriously damage property and the environment. By default, Sendthat will not move anything classed as dangerous goods, however please contact our team to make alternate arrangements with our parent company.

That’s ok. Sometimes drivers get busy and just can’t make it to the pickup. But this doesn’t mean they’ve forgotten you. Your pickup would have been rescheduled for the following day. Our team keeps a keen eye on the bookings made for that day, so they will pro-actively follow it up the next day. If any significant issues arise, we'll be in touch.

**Please note, that in the midst of COVID-19 and extreme weather, delays in collection may occasionally arise**

Yes, we can! However, please note that if there is no one home to accept the delivery, it is at the drivers discretion whether or not they are able to leave the item in a safe place. If they feel it is unsafe, a card will be left (which may include an additional fee) and the receiver will need to collect the items from the nearest depot or collection spot. If a redelivery needs to be organised this will come with an additional cost to the payee at a later date. Please contact our friendly team to organize the re-delivery or collection from an alternate delivery point.

Once the consignment has been processed the address is set. If the item has not been picked up yet, contact us and we can organise a new consignment for you at no additional cost. However, if the item has already been picked up and in transit, we will need to redirect the items with the carrier. This will come with an additional cost to the payee at a later date.
